Pineapple Express received international attention after the well-known movie. In this particular case, it’s actually understandable that Hollywood decided to use the name Pineapple Express for their movie. It’s more than a media induced hype though. Pineapple Express really has a lot to offer when taking a close look at the growing traits and the quality of the final product. It all starts with the diverse and tasteful genetic background. Pineapple is an exceptionally fruity variety from Jamaica that was crossed with the Californian champion OG Kush.
One clearly notices that Pineapple Express is predominantly indica. It grows with aggressive vigorousness and doesn’t exceed indoor heights of 100-130cm. Pineapple Express gets a little bigger when grown under direct sunlight, about 120-170cm tall. Having medium-tall plants like this is usually a good compromise between visibility and high yields. Guerilla gardeners might appreciate this trait. The flowering time is also very short, it usually takes 55 days for buds to fully mature. When growing parameters are kept within the right range, indoor yields can reach up to 500-550g/m². Outdoor growers can expect large harvests, too: Up to 450-500g per plant!
